Make sure that Socialite is up-to-date:

You can always download the latest version of Socialite from here

You should also make sure that your version of Mac OSX is up-to-date. You can do this by running “Software Update...” from the Apple Menu in the finder.

Repair your system's Disk Permissions

  • Open Disk Utility, located at /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
  • Select your startup disk on the left of the Disk Utility window
  • Select First Aid from the tabs
  • Click the “Repair Disk Permissions” button (please be aware that this can take sometime depending on your system)

  • Go to you Facebook account online and at the top bar hover over 'Settings' and select 'Application Settings'
  • From the drop-down menu select 'Authorized'
  • Remove Socialite (and/or EventBox, should it be there) from the list or authorized applications
  • Log out of Facebook
  • Now re-add the Facebook service in Socialite.

Run Socialite in Safe Boot

Restart your Mac in Safe Boot Mode (How to launch your Mac in Safe Boot - Apple KB Article) and then launch Socialite before launching any other applications or start-up items to determine whether any other third-party product may be causing an conflict issue.

Start Socialite with a fresh database

This may be required in rare cases. Take a look at the following FAQ on how to do this.

Provide us with as much information when contacting the support team!

If you are still encountering problems please open a new private discussion so that we may keep track of your issues and get you back on track as soon as possible! Here’s a guideline of what we’d love to see in every post:

  1. Version of Socialite (and build number found in the Socialite 'About' box).
  2. Clear, reproducible steps to show the issue you’re having. If you think you’ve found a bug in Socialite, please ensure that you can easily and consistently reproduce the error and let us know these steps. For bug reports, this is absolutely essential.
